1. Never, ever try anything new. Tell yourself and
others it’s because you are a perfectionist and, if
you can’t do it well, you won’t do it at all. After all,
if you were meant to be a [musician, athlete,
computer programmer, etc.], you would have been
born knowing it.
2. Worry too much about what others think of you –
friends, family, neighbors, people at work. Aren’t
they experts at knowing how you feel and what
makes you happy?
3. Be your own worst critic. If you make a mistake,
call yourself stupid, fat clown, or something worse.
This will motivate you to become perfect.
4. Have a negative attitude. If you hate everything, if
you never get your hopes up, you can never be
disappointed.
5. Focus on what you don’t have. Let other people
have an “attitude of gratitude”, you know that
having lots of possessions or a perfect spouse is the
key to happiness.
6. Always blame others for the problems in your life.
If your family didn’t buy you those games, you
would spend more time on your school work and
get good grades.
If your goal is to have a totally miserable, unhappy life,
then you must work on everything on this list. If not,
then you’ll have to avoid everything on this list.
