Yeah, I posted some laptop specs a while ago.
I'm relunctant to buy anything 'till I know exactly which type of video card and processor and hard drive I need.
Turion64 ? or Intel Core 2 Duo?
ATI or nVidia?
My dream laptop is to get an Alienware, and it's mostly because of the superior performance that it delivers. Just having a shiny alien face on the case is not the reason =p.
And also because I want to use this as a desktop replacement.
The desktop I currently have could be upgraded but I want something I can use at work and home and when I'm outside.
So I've been looking at their site for some time, I always get mail from them with promotions, etc.
But I kept wondering which laptop to get.
I was leaning towards the m9700, but it had a Turion64 processor with 400Mhz ram.
Hold on a sec.
I can't really compare numbers when it comes to AMD vs. Intel.
All I know is currently the Intel Core 2 Duo is by far the best processor out there.
But the m9700 doesn't come with the Intel.
Hold on, *checks google news*.

12 Hours ago, alienware showed off their m9750.
An SLI laptop using the Intel Core 2 Duo processor AND it has 30% better performance than its successor.
Good things come to those who are patient?
Damn right.
Okay, so, how much will this laptop be?
Now another reason I'm going for alienware is because this laptop will keep me satisfied for a long time. That means, I could always upgrade to SLI later in the future. Why spend a lot on it now if I'm not going to use it?
But there's another problem I'm having.
This laptop was made for SLI, so shouldn't I get SLI?
I mean, the m5790 is good enough right?
Well, I was actually thinking of the m5790 over the m9700 just because of the Intel Core 2 Duo processor, the good ram, etc.
Now that the new m9750 is coming out... the m9750 will keep me company for at least 3 years.
Maybe even more, since I could upgrade to SLI. And Intel Core 2 Duo has much better battery life, AND I'm curious to see how the battery life will be with SLI using the new Intel chip.
When's the release date?
Probably next week.
Hopefully it won't be that expensive.
It's just a change from AMD to Intel architecture, right?
*Looks at article* Oh, and is that a typo for WHITE?! A white laptop, hmm, totally!
*Crosses fingers*
