"I'm not the same person I was," Hilton says. "I used to act dumb. It was an
act. I am 26 years old, and that act is no longer cute. It is not who I am, nor
do I want to be that person for the young girls who looked up to me. I know now
that I can make a difference, that I have the power to do that. I have been
thinking that I want to do different things when I am out of here. I have become
much more spiritual. God has given me this new chance."
Wait, hold on a second here. Does being in prison really change a person? Or is she just talking bull****?
When a person is sentenced to go to jail, one thing is true, they do have a lot of time to themselves. This time can be spent pondering about what they have done and how they can change their lives for the better, right?
Isn't the purpose of prison to give some sort of consequence for the accused wrongdoings and in return, produce a righteous human being?
I personally think it depends on the person's will to change, jail can just give them the time to think about what they have done and how they can do better.
I wonder if this philosophy is directly connected to our parents' and teachers' favourite game they loved to play with us: TIMEOUT.

A Prison has three functions that I can see.
1) Protect everyone else from crazies.
2) Act as a deterrent for crime. (People generally don't want to go to prison.)
3) Place where criminals are punished and left to think about their crimes.
It is possible that PH has had a change of heart, or whatever; however, she has told far too many lies for me to care about her as a human being. It sounds like she is just craving for more attention to me.
If she did change, good for her. I don't need to know about it. If she hasn't changed, then I still don't need to know about it.
That's the thing with celebrities - they shouldn't be the focal point of society just because they can act, dance, or sing.
Prison can cause change, just like going to church can cause changes.
In both situations, they can decide to just sit around and not pay attention. Nothing is gained in the end. They may even grow bitter and hate because of the wasted time.
However, they could change into a more productive person if they choose to listen or to reconcile or whatever.
"Timeout" (which I have never played, by the way) is based on the same principle.
