16.9.09 First - Second Week of School posted by Pax @ 7:21 pm
The last several days of school have been horrible. I had a major headache coupled with foot pain on the 2nd day of school. Subsequently, the next day offered the beginnings of a cold. Resisting is futile indeed.

My nose ran 24/7 throughout the last 3 days of classes. A spectator questioned me, "Is your nose bleeding?" And to his dismay, I answered, "No, just running." I'm sure he was disappointed by the lack of blood excreted from my nose--a spectator sport of the male kind. We do love our blood.

My Honours Calculus course is terrible and a bit scary. I don't understand anything. And that isn't an exaggeration. Let's just say the teacher doesn't teach well. 2 girls behind me add, "Did you just get what he explained?" The other replies, "I have no idea." It seems I'm not the only one clueless. The homework is frightful. Sigh. 4 years break from Math doesn't help either. Oh, and I almost failed to mention that 99% in High School Calculus means nothing to me now.

I have been extremely busy. I moved this past week to a friend's basement near SW Marine Dr & W 41st. Good location and a quick 5 minute bus ride to UBC. Now I have more time to work on Calculus, oh yeah, and my other 4 courses.

Textbooks are expensive. Discount textbook store doesn't slash its prices enough. You hear me!? 10% really helps my wallet. Seriously. Yeah, right. >_>

I witnessed a black Audi R8 on campus today. It's supposedly a rare sight, coming from the guy with an ecstatic expression on his face walking in front of me with a shirt which read "UBC ENGINEERING" heading towards the Bookstore intersection on East Mall.

I needed a locker on campus to hold some stuff and to my luck the Computer Science X-WING had lockers for sale for $20 a term. I quickly signed up for one and now I need to get a lock.

What else can I say? My cold is almost gone. Now I can start being me again. The non-sick me. Yes, there IS a drastic difference. I'll definitely fair better next week. No more whining/complaining.
